imaFit

ima staff continue to strive for better individual and environmental health through imaFit, a program dedicated to injecting fitness into desk bound days. Committed to living a better and healthier lifestyle while having fun with coworkers and friends, ima has been participating in numerous fitness activities and events. To conclude the fitness activities for 2103, ima staff trained for and participated in the Newport Beach Triathlon and the Color Me Rad 5K.

This was ima’s second year participating in the Newport Beach Triathlon, but our first year also participating in the relay aspect of the race. The full race, completed by Joey Perez and Jason Rubek, consisted of a half-mile swim course in the Back Bay, 15 mile two-loop cycling course, and fast and scenic three mile run course. The relay race, completed as a team by Shane Antolak, Aaron Olsen, and Chris Arnold, consisted of each team member completing a different leg of the race. All participants were also cheered on by other staff members who showed up to cheer their fellow co-workers on.

The Color Me Rad 5K was, for lack of a better word, COLORFUL. ima participants came ready to rock in their white imaFit shirts and neon colored sunglasses. After a battle of color bombs, the race began followed by color attacks at numerous stations. The Color Me Rad Race was not only fun for ima staff because of the funny clothing and color battles, but also because it benefitted the Special Olympics of Southern California. According to their website “The mission of Special Olympics Southern California is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.” Learn more at http://www.sosc.org/.

The imaFit program will be back and ready to start again this month. We hope to see you at the events!
