ima was featured in Urban Land Magazine’s August issue in the Special Section: California Article. The article examines the expanding economy in California and how it is powering the increase in real estate across the state. ima’s president, William Schulz, was asked to share insights on the drivers of real estate growth. He noted that the municipal approval process is part of what is keeping the supply of affordable housing low with the high level of city staff scrutiny. Additionally, social media playing a powerful role in helping NIMBY’s to effectively rally community members, creating a more organized voice to influence council decisions. These factors are nowencouraging the continued high demand in affordable housing, like at ima’s recent project, the Exchange at Gateway, a high demand affordable housing project in El Monte, was showcased in the article.
