ima is the lead landscape architect for the six acre Resort at the Groves, centrally located within the newly opened community of Orchard Hills in Irvine, California. Working closely with the Irvine Company, ima’s landscape design team created a resort style setting to compliment the beautiful site nestled between avocado orchards and rolling hills. This luxurious community amenity provides active and social opportunities with a Junior Olympic size swimming pool, spa, wading pool, an exciting tot lot, picnic tables, basketball and tennis courts, and beautiful water features. The site is further served by numerous trails and paseo connections providing serene paths to walk, jog, hike and bike.
Leo O’Brian, ima’s Principal leading this effort said, “When we visited the site for the first time we were so impressed by the spectacular views of the adjacent avocado orchards covered hill that we wanted to orient the primary view from the pool area towards this unique orchard landscape. We designed an intimate tile-covered loggia to feel like an outdoor living room complete with a fireplace, soft seating and a variety of seating areas to maximize the best of this site.” The Resort at the Groves is the heart of Orchard Hills, setting the tone for the lifestyle of this luxury community.
