Intrawest, having invested for some years in the Mammoth Mountain resort determined an authentic mountain village was needed to create the leisure ambiance to compete with Colorado and Utah resorts. Billed as the new gateway to the Sierras, the Village at Mammoth provides new luxury condominiums in a retail setting with direct access to the ski gondola.
The major village spaces tell in real life the story of Dave McCoy, founder of Mammoth Mountain, John Muir and Ansel Adams. Their named plaza spaces are a landscape tribute to the Sierra personalities they loved. The pools, spas, paving patterns, and plantings combined create scenery with entertainment. A display of fish development, a performance plaza and thematic sculpture complete the village.
