Since the County of Riverside, California is one of the fastest growing areas in the state, a huge demand on existing outdated transportation systems has been placed. In order to provide a transportation solution, Riverside County, California is one of the ima is assisting in the transportation solution and designing new metro link stations for the Perris Valley Line Metro Yellow Line extension and a multimodal facility in the City of Perris.
The Perris Valley Line is an extension of the San Jacinto Branch Line commuter rail Metrolink 91 Line planned by the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC). The new Perris Valley Line will expand rail service to southern and western portions of Riverside County with connection to downtown Los Angeles and is expected to be operational in 2012. This Metrolink project will travel along existing tracks in the Riverside County I-214 corridor beginning at downtown Riverside and ending near south Perris. There are seven Metrolink stations planned along the new Metrolink line. Currently in the conceptual design phase, ima is providing landscape master planning and landscape architectural services for the new Metrolink stations. The landscape development will incorporate green building sustainable design principles and will conform to the Southern California Regional Rail Authority, RCTC, Riverside County and multiple city guidelines and standards. With STV, ima is integrating the design criteria of the various agencies including: the Riverside County Transportation Commission.
