UC Irvine has broken ground on the fourth phase of its East Campus student housing, according to Morley Builders.
The project, which is being developed by American Campus Communities, will consist of a five-story building featuring 410 units - or a total of 1,441 student beds - adjacent to a parking structure on Arroyo Drive.
KTGY Architecture + Planning is designing the contemporary mid-rise structure, which should be completed by the end of Summer 2019.
The previous three phases of the projects have brought 5,162 student housing units to the campus, with the aim of transforming UC Irvine from a commuter school to a residential campus.
