Founded in 1911, serving over 7,000 youth with 50 programs through north Orange County, the Anaheim YMCA has a 110 year history without a community facility. Therefore, ima was commissioned to consult on the programming vision and site design.
The program included six arena soccer fields, three multi-purpose activity lawns, and off-site improvements to enhance the adjacent neighborhood, school, and Ross Park. The flex spaces planned were designed to support the YMCA programming from Soccer, Fitness Classes, and Various Outdoor Activities.
ima also worked with Work with the YMCA Board to develop a budget framework to accomplish its goals. This included design and construction strategies as well as creating space on site for a paver donation program.
Through the efforts of the YMCA, ima, and the design and construction team, the site was transformed from an industrial brown field site to a Family Friendly Venue for the Anaheim YMCA, expanding offerings for the adjacent Ross Park and School. All this was accomplished while providing a safe and clean environment to host the YMCA community benefit programs.
