An ambitious facility envisioned as an agricultural and environmental educational community, Cal Poly Pomona’s Agriscapes demonstrates adaptable living in a sustainable environment.
Agriscapes includes live/work/classroom facilities where students and faculty grow and sell crops, research new regenerative technologies and live in space built from recycled materials. The horticultural and greenhouse areas include a wet lab, propagation and production houses in a learning lab environment. An informal landscape program would link the student dormitories, offices and classroom space to the greenhouse area.
An Edutainment Visitor Center featuring immersive and interactive exhibits would serve as a demonstration project for the surrounding community to learn how to integrate sustainable technologies in their own homes and classrooms.
