This unique property location sits between the Cal Poly campus and existing single family residential neighborhood adding 40 units of student and faculty housing. Its ‘transitional’ location becomes important to weave the existing context together, while respecting pedestrian trails and transit linkages within the community. The intersection of Grand Avenue and Slack Street plays a major role in determining the gateway identity for the campus. Creating strategies were implemented to accommodate significant grade changes.
